St. Paul Church of God in Christ Community Development Ministries, Inc. extends the church’s mission of faith, service, and community empowerment into workforce development, education, housing, and economic opportunity. Created as the community development arm of St. Paul, the organization carries forward the church’s long-standing commitment to meeting both the spiritual and practical needs of families, workers, youth, elders, and neighbors.

Through St. Paul Community Development Ministries, the church helps residents prepare for family-sustaining careers and long-term stability. Its pre-apprenticeship training program supports participants pursuing pathways into union construction careers through classroom instruction, hands-on industry exposure, aptitude test preparation, resume and interview coaching, wrap-around services, and industry-recognized certifications.

The organization’s work is especially focused on expanding access for residents and communities that have historically faced barriers to employment, training, and economic opportunity. By connecting participants to preparation, mentorship, support services, and career pathways, St. Paul Community Development Ministries helps transform faith into action and opportunity into lasting community impact.

Victoria Jennings Residences connects to St. Paul Church of God in Christ’s broader legacy of affordable housing, accessibility, and community care. Under Bishop Charles Ford’s leadership, St. Paul’s work expanded to include affordable housing projects such as Margaret Ford Manor for seniors and Victoria Jennings Residences for individuals with disabilities.

Located at 624 W. 61st Street, Victoria Jennings Residences is publicly listed as affordable housing and subsidized senior apartments with one- and two-bedroom units. Public housing listings also describe Victoria Jennings Residences as low-income apartments serving people with disabilities, while an Illinois General Assembly resolution identifies it as a 24-unit building for the disabled connected to St. Paul’s community impact.

For the community, Victoria Jennings Residences extends St. Paul’s mission of care to residents who need accessible, affordable, and supportive housing options. It shows how the church’s legacy of ministry includes not only worship and outreach, but also creating places where people with disabilities can live with greater independence, security, and dignity.

Margaret Ford Manor reflects St. Paul Church of God in Christ’s commitment to caring for elders and strengthening community stability beyond the sanctuary. The senior residence was part of Bishop Louis Henry Ford’s vision for a senior living facility connected to St. Paul, and that vision was carried forward by Bishop Charles Mason Ford through the construction of Margaret Ford Manor.

Located at 4500 S. Wabash Avenue in Bronzeville, Margaret Ford Manor is identified in public listings as affordable senior housing and a Section 8/202 community. Historical church listings describe Margaret Ford Manor as a 60-unit independent living complex for senior citizens, showing how St. Paul’s ministry expanded into housing, dignity, and long-term care for older adults.

For the community, Margaret Ford Manor represents faith translated into practical support. It helps seniors remain connected to a familiar neighborhood, live with greater stability, and age with dignity near the church and community institutions that have shaped Bronzeville for generations.
